R&D project to produce biofertilizer progresses into field trials


KUCHING: A research and development (R&D) project to produce biofertilizer from empty palm oil fruit bunches (FFBs) is progressing into field trials.

Pot trials on soya beans have been conducted and preliminary findings have shown good results in plant growth, according to Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMS), which is involved in the project via subsidiary CMS Agrotech Sdn Bhd in collaboration with scientists from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).
