Kimi toils for victory over Justin

Forehand return: Kimi returning the shuttle to Justin in the under-9 boy's singles final.

PLAYING with great poise and the sort of maturity that belied his age, eight-year-old Kimi Ng was crowned Under-9 boys’ singles champion at the Hooi Yee Sport Junior Badminton Championships, beating nine-year-old Justin Hoh Shou Wei.

Kimi fought hard in the first set yet lost 18-21. But the lanky lad fought back and forced the match into a rubber after winning the second set 21-16.
