KUCHING: Statistics show that many online purchase scams involving scratch-and-win schemes had gone rural as the syndicates involved realised that urban folk had become smarter and more educated, and they know their rights.
“Some of these direct selling companies are abusing their licences because they are not licensed to run scratch-and-win schemes,” said state Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry director Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman at a seminar on consumerism here yesterday.
