Rosary Chapel holds traditional celebrations beginning with Palm Sunday

MALACCA: The ruins of the Rosary Chapel (Ermida de Rosario) situated along the Malacca River Cruise route and the proposed monorail project along the upper reaches of Jalan Bunga Raya, looks forlorn and neglected despite coming under the purview of the Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry and the National Heritage Department.

Nevertheless, the story emanating from the dilapidated vestige spells colourful and chequered. This was brought into focus when the three-century-old Church of St. Peter, standing a stone’s throw away from the ruins, unfolded its traditional Holy Week celebrations beginning with Palm Sunday on March 23.
