KUCHING: Some 20 biomass plants are expected to be built in Sarawak to generate renewable energy should the authorities give the go-ahead.

Industrial Development Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said 11 oil palm mills had applied for biomass generating licences with total capacity of about 60MW.
