KUCHING: As Sarawak is set to become one of Malaysia’s aged states by 2030, it should make early plans for sufficient facilities such as nursing homes for its elderly citizens.
In making this proposal, Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah said based on the Population and Housing Census in 2010, Sarawak was the fourth highest in the number of registered aged citizens with 211,181 after Selangor (334,289), Perak (280,118) and Johor (278,028).
