IN the 45-year history of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), no engineering student has ever bagged the Chancellor’s Gold Medal Award for best overall student during its convocation.

This year, however, Aerospace Engineering graduate Azlan Shah Abdul Jalil has broken the duck by being the first student from USM’s Engineering Campus in Nibong Tebal to win the coveted award.
