THE Hai Choo Soo (Sea Pearl) Temple in Tanjung Tokong, Penang, was brimming with thousands of people including those eager to be among the first to know Tua Pek Kong’s (God of Prosperity) predictions on Penang’s economy over three trimesters of the year.
It was a busy, lively scene as devotees also came to offer prayers to the deity, watch the firecrackers or fireworks display and patronise stalls selling food, medicinal products and prayer paraphernalia.
