MALACCA: All in all, there has been a recent spell of good news for cricket. Banda Hilir Primary School (BHPS) and Malacca Indian Association (MIA) notched impressive wins on the home and overseas fronts while the Malacca Cricket Association outlined development and promotion plans to boost the game on the local scene.
The association has identified five strategic priorities upon which to develop and promote cricket in the state starting next year untill 2015. The association is collaborating with the state Education Department and the Schools Sports Council to set up an academy to initiate a broad-based cricket development programme in schools.
