KUCHING: Betong is well on track to becoming a major hub for rubber production in the country.
Betong Deputy Resident (development) Pathi Kerni said with 11,000ha of its land already planted with rubber by the Agriculture Department under the rubber mini-estate (RME) programme, Betong could well be the largest rubber producing area in Malaysia by 2020.
