RESIDENTS living near telecommunication towers need not fear as the electromagnetic radiation from these towers is far below the danger level.
Malaysian Nuclear Agency radiation safety and health division manager Dr Wan Saffiey Wan Abdullah said the safe level recognised by the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection is at 1,000 microwatts per square centimetre.
