CATCHING geckos has become a new hobby for many Balik Pulau residents after reports that its meat could be sold for up to RM1mil per kg in the overseas market were featured in the Chinese dailies.
Residents, whose houses are located near hilly or jungle areas, are seeing a rise of gecko–catching particularly following speculation that the reptile’s tongue could cure AIDS.
