ABOUT 80 inshore fishermen in Kampung Changkat, Penang, are claiming that their low catch rates have dwindled even further now following a mid-sea dredging work by contractors employed at the second Penang Bridge construction site.
South Seberang Prai Fishermen Association president Azman Ahmad, 43, said the dredging work was likely to have caused the marine life to suffocate and flee to other coastal areas to survive in view of the dredging works.
