THE weather may be gloomy outside but the feeling of Chinese New Year is very much in the air at the Kampung Tawas community hall in Ipoh.
About 100 children from various schools in Perak participated in a calligraphy contest, where they wrote auspicious Chinese verses on red paper, which would later adorn homes during the Lunar New Year.
