JOHOR BARU: The upcoming 8th SME Recognition Awards is seen as a catalyst for 548,000 local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to improve and achieve the set target of producing 37% of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) next year.
SMI Association of Malaysia national president Chua Tiam Wee said that at present, SMEs contributed 32% of the nation’s GDP annually since 2005.
