UNIVERSITI Sains Malaysia (USM) former director of Institute of Research in Molecular Medicine (Inform) Prof Asma Ismail (pic) has been appointed the university’s new deputy vice-chancellor (research and development) with effect from Monday.
The award-winning professor who received her appointment letter from Higher Education Minister Datuk Mohd Khaled Nordin succeeded Prof Datuk Muhammad Idris Saleh and will be holding the post until 2011.
