DO you love to watch dances? Then head for the Penang Famous Street Food Fest which will be held from 6pm to 10pm on Dec 15 at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA).

High-energy dances like hip hop and breakdance as well as the rhumba and cha cha will spice up the fest organised in conjunction with the Penang Starwalk’s 30th anniversary.

Belly dancing, street jazz and ballroom dancing will also be featured.

All the dancers will be from Let's Dance Studio and Danz Club.

Graceful: Belly dancers posing in their glittery costumes.

Let’s Dance Studio founder Oh Joo Nee said 20 of the studio’s dancers were training hard for the event.

Danz Club managing director Richard Kang said the club’s dancers would captivate the audience with their innovative choreography.

Pallas is sponsoring 20 T-shirts and 20 pairs of Jazz-Star shoes for the hip-hop, breakdance and street jazz dancers.

The fest will showcase Penang’s finest hawker fare with 30 hawkers selling both halal and non-halal delights including 12 hawkers featured in the ‘Famous Street Food of Pe-nang – A Guide and Cook Book’ published by Star Publications (M) Bhd.

Daring moves: The Let's Dance Studio dancers performing hip hop stunts.

The book will be available at the fest at a 20% discount from its normal price of RM28.

About 1,000 line dancers are also expected to take part. Those interested to join can call Belinda Neoh at 016-4775782.

Visitors stand a chance to win attractive prizes. Entry is free.

Hot numbers: Kang and his partner Yoko Takahashi performing a Latin dance.

Mystery gifts will be given to the first 30 visitors born in 1978. They need to bring their ICs for verification.
