Auction event for charity

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is set to be the latest, perhaps the hottest, on the list of gym celebrities in the country.

And are you willing to spend a fortune to be with her for two hours in the gym? 

If the answer is yes, then proceed to Courtyard Garden, 10, Jalan Dungun, Bukit Damansara on Nov 15 to try your luck. 

The offer “Keep fit with Datuk Shahrizat” is actually top of a list of items for auction at the Multicultural Ladies Association 's (MLA) fundraising dinner for Welcome Community Home and Rumah Ozanam. 

Both homes are for people infected by HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) or suffering from AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) 

MLA president Patricia Lum said Shahrizat would also grace the event, themed A Tropical Night With The Stars. 

The second item on the auctioneer's list is Lum's offer – “Come dance with me - the opening dance with the MLA president” at the event itself.  

Other items for auction at the event will include:  

  • How low can you go? – a yoga session with MLA vice -president Rosalind. 

  • Moving along the whisky trail with Datuk Ling Hee Leong and Dr Milton Lum – a whisky tasting session. 

  • A batik silk baju kurung personally hand painted by fashion designer, Bill Keith 

  • What's brewing in Red Ginger? Cooking up a storm with Elizabeth Chen. 

  • Getting ready to usher in 2008, year of the rat? – a Feng Shui session with Joey Yap. 

  • Let's get motivated for the global market, a corporate training programme with clinical psychologist, Dr Paul Jambunathan 

  • TOC Automotive College – three-year course.  

    Diners who will be charged RM200 each, will also get to enjoy performances by the Caring and Sharing Choir led by Toh Puan Ena Ling and Strings Attached (a singing of quartet of children), a talk by Feng Shui Master Joey Yap and a sketch “Fallen Leaves” by the Welcome Community Home's residents. 

    Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman chairman Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik and his wife Toh Puan Ena Ling will also grace the function
