THERE will be a "Pump Nam Reak" ceremony from 8.30am tomorrow at the Wat Buppharam Buddhist Temple in Penang.
During the ceremony, monks from Malaysia and southern Thailand will make some 5,000 "Jatukarm-Ramathep – Ganesha" amulets and five-inch figurines from natural ingredients and temple relics.
They will also bless these amulets during prayers at the temple.
The ceremony will be the sixth of eight sessions which started last month at Wat Mahathat temple in the southern Thai province of Nakhon Sithamalat.
Wat Buppharam chief abbot Phra Palad Yan Jong Khantikpalo said worshippers and donors of last year’s 'kathina' and 'loy krathong' celebrations would be blessed at the ceremony.
