IN keeping up with the manyMerdeka inspired celebrations, the Petaling District Tenpin BowlingAssociation (PDTBA) has joinedforces with SportsUnite and Milo toorganise the Merdeka Junior UnityBowling Carnival at the PyramidMegalanes in Sunway on Aug 31.
A total of 48 teams - 24 teams from primary schools and 24 from secondary schools - will be taking part in the one-day championships. Each team has to have three students from at least two different racial background.
PDTBA president Loh Seng Kok said the bowling carnival has proven to be an ideal and meaningful way to celebrate Merdeka.
“This is the third year we are organising the carnival in conjunction with the Merdeka celebrations. It provides opportunities to promote racial unity among the young. In this case, we are giving the teachers, accompanying the teams, a chance to interact with the students,” said Loh at the launching of the carnival.
