Of embroidery and smocking works

WHEN my mother was in school, she learnt how to cross-stitch, embroider and smock during her Home Science lessons. Some of these works are still in good condition and occasionally she will take them out for me to see. 

The intricate smocking and embroidery has always fascinated me, no matter how many times I see them.
