I REFER to the letter “Tourist suffers terror ride in taxi” (Metro, Jan 13)
I cannot believe such a thing is taking place in our country.
The act of a few errant cabbies is smearing the image of others who take pride in their profession.
The Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board and taxi associations must work closely to weed out the bad hats among taxi drivers.
It is vital for those in the public transport business to carry out their work professionally.
Taxi drivers must make it a practice to be polite and responsible at all times.
They should charge accordingly and not short-change their passengers.
