NUNUKAN: When a Sabah state delegation visited this Indonesian town of East Kalimantan in September last year, the cleared land for a barter trading centre and jetty was barren.

Last Saturday, when another Malaysian team went to the site, the centre and jetty was nearing completion and a 15-minute boat ride away was Pulau Sebatik’s Tanjung Arang still struggling to show any signs of development.
