Peace exhibition 

Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) and Peace Malaysia are co-sponsoring an exhibition titled, ``Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace,'' which will be held at the SGM Pahang’s cultural centre in Semambu in Kuantan from 10am until 10pm daily from Sunday to Sept 10. The exhibition aimed at driving home a message about individual leadership and the difference that a person could make in promoting peace through non-violent actions. Admission is free. 

Health forum 

Malaysian Liver Foundation is holding a public forum themed “Fight Hepatitis, Prevent Liver Cancer” at Mahkota Parade from 10am till 5pm on Sept 10. 

There will also be blood screening and immunisation for Hepatitis B, counselling, poster exhibition and membership drive where admission is free.

Book fair 

In conjunction with the National Day celebrations, Popular Book Store in Plaza Pelangi Johor Baru is having a Popular Book Fair until Sunday at Level 1 of the mall. For more information, contact 07-3324366. 

SkyHigh at Cocco Loco 

LOCAL seven-member band SkyHigh will be performing at the Cocco Loco Fun Pub at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Kuantan until October. The group provides an excellent repertoire of jazz, pop, rock, R & B and other top chart hits. They perform nightly except Sundays from 10pm. For reservations, contact the resort at 09-566 1234. 

Treasure hunt 

Befrienders Malacca is organising 2006 Merdeka Treasure Hunt in conjunction with the World Suicide Prevention Day on Sept 10. The competition is aimed at increasing public awareness on issues regarding suicide and publicizes the organisation's services to the public. The winners of the competition will receive a total of RM1,500, certificates and other prizes.

Flower arrangement 

THE Johor Cheshire Home will be holding courses on flower arrangement for people with special needs. The courses will be held in two-hour sessions every Sunday at 9am from Sept 17 to Nov 19. Those interested should submit application forms by Sept 10. For more information contact 07-237 1335.
