LOYAL supporters of the Seremban Half Marathon (SHM), Milo, Antah Health Group and Bata, will continue to do so with the 19th edition of the event to be held at NS Padang on July 16. SHM patron Tunku Naquiyuddin Tuanku Ja'afar said they are happy with the support from the three organisations.
“Milo, Antah Health Group and Bata have been with the SHM for a long time. Their support has played a big role in making the SHM a big success,'' said Tunku Naquiyuddin after the sponsorship presentation ceremony recently.
Nestlé Products sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong said the company had been with the SHM since the launch of the run.
“We have seen the SHM grow into a major event in the country. We will continue to support the SHM as it encourages and promotes a healthy lifestyle,'' said Ng.
As one of the main sponsors, Milo will support the SHM with cash, drinks, breakfast cereals and hampers. It will also provide prizes for the lucky draw.
Antah Healthcare Group, that is also contributing cash and products, are happy to be part of the SHM as the Run is a fun way for the community to get together.
The group chief executive officer Ralph Yapp said SHM had been around for so long.
“The SHM has become an important event, promoting a healthy lifestyle among the public. The run presents an opportunity for Antah Health Group to increase public awareness on living healthily, '' he said.
Bata Malaysia will be supporting SHM for the 15th year. Besides cash contribution, Bata Malaysia will be providing Power shoes for the Corporate Fun Run and lucky draw.
The SHM is organised by the Negri Sembilan Amateur Athletic Association (NSAAA).
The SHM will be held in conjunction with the 84th birthday celebration of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.
The run is jointly organised by the Antah Group and Negri Sembilan Amateur Athletic Association with The Star as the press sponsor.
The Star's senior manager for marketing services Iris Tan said SHM was an opportunity for the publishing firm to interact with its readers.
The SHM has categories catering to all ages with the 21.1km half-marathon comprising Women's Open (aged 19 and above), Men’s Senior (aged 19 to 40) and Men's Veteran (aged 40 and above).
The categories for the 11km run are Women's Senior (aged 19 to 35), Women's Veteran (aged 35 to 45), Women's Senior Veteran (aged 45 and above), Men’s Senior, Men's Veteran (aged 40 to 50) and Men's Senior Veteran (aged 50 and above).
Another two categories are Women’s Junior (aged 13 to 19) and Men’s Junior (aged 13 to 19).
The categories in the Larian Istiwewa (Special Run) are Men's Open (partially blind, deaf and dumb), Women's Open (partially blind, deaf and dumb), Men's Open (wheelchair), Women's Open (wheelchair), Men's Open (non-wheelchair), Women's Open (non-wheelchair) and Mentally Handicapped (aged 13 and below).
There are two categories called VIP Run and Corporate Fun Run (a team of 10 comprising a minimum of two women).
The theme of the Corporate Fun Run is Fun, Fancy Dress And Fellowship.
Prizes will be given for the largest number of teams registered by an organisation, the fastest team as well as team with the most fancy and most creative dress.
The entry fee for the Women’s Junior (aged 13 to 19) and Men’s Junior (aged 13 to 19) is RM5 while the entry fee for the corporate Fun Run is RM150 for each team.
The VIP Run is by invitation while the Special Run has no entry fee.
The entry fee for all other categories is RM10.
