Magistrate’s ruling upheld

PENANG: A High Court held that a magistrate had not erred by ruling that the absence of independent witnesses in a molest case was fatal to the prosecution's case.

Judicial Commissioner Mohd Zabidin Mohd Diah said the magistrate’s ruling on Aug 29 last year was not wrong because the prosecution’s witnesses were relatives of the victim while the defence witnesses were all relatives of the accused.
