Sword training to improve aikido


AIKIDO, a subtle and effective Japanese martial art that is based on locks, pins and throws, actually employs sword-cutting movements.  

So it was apt that a group of 26 students from Yoshinkan Aikido Malaysia (YAM) spent two and a half days learning how to wield the bokken (heavy wooden sword) and the tanto (wooden dagger) at the YAM's second annual training camp.
