AMONG the social gatherings organised last week in conjunction with the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival was one held at Subang Parade.
It was attended by more than 100 people comprising Trinkets Trail stall vendors, selected shoppers and the management of Subang Parade.
The event, held on Friday, was organised by Trinkets Trail, which is a weekend handicraft market at Subang Parade.
Prizes comprising various handicraft donated by Trinkets Trail stall vendors were given to participants in games like Fastest Eater Of Mooncake.
Guests enjoyed food including herbal eggs, fish cooked in aluminium foil, barbequed chicken and yong tau foo.
Children also had fun in lighting and parading lanterns.
Elsewhere, about 300 people attended a Lantern Festival party organised by the SS3 Residents Association on Saturday night.
The event, held at the residents association community centre at Jalan SS3/14, was officiated by Kampung Tunku assemblyman Datuk Dr Wong Sai Hou who was there with his wife Datin Jennifer Wong.
Wong said the gathering had been organised annually for the past 10 years.
Events like this help to foster inter-racial relations and create closer ties among the residents, said Wong, who is also chairman of the SS3 Residents Association.
A lantern procession around the neighbourhood was also organised.
SS3 Residents Association vice chairman Beh Soon Lai also took the opportunity to urge residents to attend a blood donation and health awareness campaign on September 24, to be held from 10am till 6pm, at the SS3 Residents Association community centre.
