KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Battalion 850-13 (MALBATT 850-13) personnel currently conducting peacekeeping operations in Lebanon are always in a state of readiness and prepared for any possibility while carrying out their duties in their areas of jurisdiction.
A post on the MALBATT 850-13's official Facebook page said that every personnel is trained to act professionally and with discipline in any situation in line with the principles of peacekeeping operations under the auspicies of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
"The preparation does not only cover tactical aspects, but also mental, physical and spiritual preparedness in facing challenges during the mission," the post read.
It also said that such an approach reflected the team's commitment in ensuring personnel safety, protecting local communities and maintaining stability in the operation area, with preparations encompassing operations, administration and logistics conducted periodically by MalBatt 850-13 deputy commander, Lt Col Zain Azrai Karia, Staff Officer 1 Operations, Lt Col Mohd Farid Ahmad, Staff Officer 1 Training Cmdr Rusmanizam Ismail and Staff Officer 1 Logistics, Lt Col Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Samat.
The preparations are to ensure that all MalBatt 850-13 personnel understands and complies with required actions for any possibilities and to help identify the team's strengths and weaknesses in facing emergency situations, and thus support the team's contingency plans. - Bernama
