AD Time has brought in the new stylish and rugged Suunto Kailash for the adventurer at heart, writes EMILY K.
IN search of a timepiece that does more than just tell the time? Adventurists can now do much more with Suunto Kailash, the first watch released in the Suunto World Collection.
With a bezel made of space grade titanium, the lightweight watch features sapphire crystal glass, an outdoor-proof composite casing and a soft and durable silicone strap.
Suunto product manager Andreas Theer described Suunto’s watches as a reliable sports equipment rather than just a watch.
“Many Malaysians are becoming more concerned about their health and thus are more involved in outdoor activities. As Suunto is the only brand that fully supports outdoor activities, I believe this will appeal to the local market,” said Theer.
He noted that the collection’s lifestyle and performance-oriented design adds to the watches’ uniqueness.
The Kailash collection, named after Tibetan peak Mount Kailash, offers functions such as a global positioning system (GPS), global and automatic time and location updates, a unique new adventure logbook and trustworthy illumination to aid adventure seekers on their journeys.
Besides that, the watch can also be paired with the Suunto 7R mobile application which keeps adventure seekers updated on push notifications, calls and texts while on their journeys.
Suunto brand ambassador and the world’s best trail runner Kilian Jornet said the Suunto World Collection shares the same values and life principles as he does, empowering and reminding him of who he is.
“As an adventurer at heart, Suunto has always been in the forefront of many pioneering innovations in their range of timepieces for great adventure. It has assisted me in exploring new paths, new ways of thinking and empowered my inner feeling of taking risks,” Kilian complimented.
The new stylish and rugged collection was launched in conjunction with the grand opening of Solar Time boutique at the Lower Ground Floor of Midvalley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur.
AD Time Sdn Bhd executive business director Lim Ming Bian said the brand has never failed to display a sense of originality in its design and features.
“We’re truly ecstatic with the new collection and believe it will do very well in the local market. We’re certain that consumers will be thrilled with this new collection as I am,” said Lim, adding that it was an honour to have Kilian’s presence at the launch.
Suunto’s World Collection is presented under the label of Suunto 7R, where 7R stands for the adventure gene that scientists have identified in people with a higher disposition for exploration and adventure.
The Suunto Elementum and Suunto Essential will also become part of the Suunto 7R offering.
Available in four editions - the Copper, Slate, Carbon and Silver - Suunto Kailash is priced at RM3,999 each and is available at all Solar Time stores nationwide.
The Suunto 7R mobile application is currently only available on the Apple AppStore.
