OWNING a home may not be such a far-fetched dream anymore, thanks to Mah Sing Group’s latest initiative, Cendana Apartments in Rawang.

The development, part of Mah Sing’s Rumah Selangorku project at M Residence 2 in Rawang, is Mah Sing’s way of supporting the Government’s effort to encourage home ownership amongst the lower-income group.

To help you get a better idea what Cendana is all about, Mah Sing will host an exclusive event for the public tomorrow and on Sunday at The Clubhouse, M Residence, Rawang from 10am to 6pm.

The event will provide potential homeowners the opportunity to register directly with Mah Sing and apply to own a unit of Cendana.

Boasting 488 units, the Cendana Apartments homes have a built-up area of 850 sq ft each. Each unit comes with three bedrooms and two parking bays.

Priced at RM170,000, these affordable high-rise residential blocks will be located within a gated and guarded community.

Slated for completion by 2018, the development will also create a neighbouring recreational space that has a communal playground, surau and a multipurpose hall for the residents.

“As a property developer working towards supporting the national vision of ensuring that the bottom 40% household income group are able to own their own homes, Mah Sing is pleased to build houses that meet the needs of the current market.

“Careful thought has been given to incorporate safety features, environmental-friendly features and facilities to Cendana.

“We believe quality doesn’t depend on the price range; we want our customers to be proud of their homes,” said Mah Sing chief executive officer Ng Chai Yong.

To qualify for the scheme, applicants need to be Malaysian citizens above 18 years of age, have a gross household income between RM3,001 and RM8,000 per month, with neither husband or wife owning a property in Selangor. It is also open to singles with family obligations.

Buyers must purchase the unit to live in and not to rent, and the property can only be resold or transferred after five years.

The M Residence 2 is a gated and guarded township created for those looking for an affordable alternative in a well-connected location.

Surrounding it are healthy lifestyle features such as jogging tracks and recreational and clubhouse facilities.

Rawang is well-connected by road and rail, but M Residence 2 will, in addition to this, also be accessible via Jalan Batu Arang and the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar) when the extension from Jalan Tasik Puteri is completed by end of the year.

Those interested in acquiring a Cendana unit are invited to bring the necessary documents this weekend.
