Ex-footballer proves his worth

FORMER national footballer K. Nanthakumar’s first stint as a coach ended in triumph when he steered the Perak Indian Football Association to victory in the 12th Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu Cup Under-23 football tournament.

Perak defeated hosts Penang 2-0 in the final played at the Politeknik Seberang Prai on Saturday to be crowned champions for only the second time. The silver state’s previous triumph in the annual tournament organised by the Malaysian Indian FA was in 2005.
