WESAK Day was observed across the country with prayers, processions and acts of giving, as devotees gathered at temples and public spaces.
The annual celebration marks the birth, enlightenment and death of Siddhartha Gautama and is regarded as the most important day in the Buddhist calendar.
Throughout the day worshippers offered incense, flowers and candles, moving through temple halls and open compounds.
Chanting sessions and meditation formed part of the observance, with monks leading prayers and blessing devotees.
In several locations, volunteers distributed items such as blessed water and food to those present.
Outside temple grounds, float processions and candlelight walks took place, with participants carrying lanterns or candles along designated routes.
In the evening, illuminated displays and candlelight arrangements were set up at temples and public spaces.
