PETRONAS Philharmonic Hall (DFP) and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) have embarked on a partnership with Tourism Malaysia for Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between DFP/MPO chief executive officer Siti Azlina Abd Latif and Tourism Malaysia director- general Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim in Kuala Lumpur.
It was witnessed by DFP/MPO chairman Norafizal Mat Saad and senior director/ VM2026 secretariat head Mohd Akbal Setia.
Siti Azlina said, “Today marks another milestone for Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
“Together, we can complement each other and achieve greater heights for our common goal in supporting VM2026.
“Music is an important universal platform that shapes our national identity.
“This partnership will support Kuala Lumpur as a dynamic city and Malaysia as a culturally rich and vibrant tourist destination.”
Siti Azlina added that DFP and MPO have been at the forefront of the creative industry, delivering consistent and artistically excellent programme all year round for the past 28 years.
Each season showcases a variety of music offerings with genres ranging from classical, pop, jazz and ethnic music to movie and anime soundtracks.
As strategic partners, DFP and MPO brands’ visibility will be expanded through integration across the digital and physical platforms of Tourism Malaysia’s overseas information centres.
The partnership will also witness the curation of marketable packages for Malaysians and foreign tourists, including ticket discounts and hall tours.
The collaboration also sees the possibility of DFP and MPO curating signature cultural content for Tourism Malaysia’s campaign.
