WANITA MCA is organising a Health Family Day today at Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur.
Highlights include physical health screenings, blood donation drive, mental health consultations and therapy activities.
The 9am to 4pm event is free and open to the public.
“Themed ‘Give to Gain: Together in a Community of Care’, the event aims to promote preventive healthcare, strengthen family well-being and foster a caring community spirit,” said Wanita MCA chief Datuk Wong You Fong.
She said the programme would feature health and wellness talks, traditional therapy experiences, health promotion zone, vision tests and parent-child activities.
With a wide range of health screening services, visitors can undertake tests for blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and colorectal cancer.
There will also be lung and liver health checks, HPV DNA testing for cervical cancer, breast cancer screening and mammogram referrals, as well as mental health consultations.
“Senior citizens may also benefit from dementia and sarcopenia assessments,” Wong said, adding that on-site registrations for screenings will be open from 9am to 2pm.
The blood donation drive will run throughout the day.
Through this initiative, Wanita MCA hopes to raise greater awareness of preventive care while encouraging families to adopt healthier lifestyles together.
