New committee at the helm of MDPM for 2025-2027 term


THE Majlis Datuk Persekutuan Malaysia (MDPM) has announced the appointment of its new leadership committee for the 2025 to 2027 term, following its annual general meeting.

Datuk Alvin Tee Guan Pian was elected the fifth president of MDPM, a national organisation established 21 years ago.

In a media statement, MDPM said that it remained steadfast in its mission to foster national unity, promote patriotism, enhance social harmony and uphold the dignity and responsibilities that accompanied the title.

The newly appointed leadership committee comprises individuals from diverse sectors, including government, business, law and civil society – all committed to advancing MDPM’s vision and strengthening its impact across the nation, the organisation said.

In his acceptance remarks, Tee said, “It is a great honour to serve as president of MDPM.

“I am humbled by the trust placed in me and my fellow office bearers.

“Together, we are committed to strengthening MDPM as a unifying platform for Datuks – one that champions national progress, integrity and community service.”

Tee is group managing partner of UHY Malaysia PLT, who has 30 years of experience in audit, corporate finance and advisory. He serves as a world director of the UHY International Network that is based in London.

He is also vice-president and chief executive officer of the Entrepreneurs Society under the Federation of Hokkien Associations Malaysia, and formerly served as executive director of the Malaysia-China Business Council which is a key non-governmental organisation (NGO) promoting bilateral trade.

MDPM also extended its appreciation to the outgoing committee of 2023 to 2025 for their dedicated service and contributions.

Office bearers appointed for the 2025 to 2027 term together with Tee are deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim who is group managing director of World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur and the first Malaysian appointed to the World Trade Centres Association Board; vice-presidents Datuk Rosli Mat Hassan who is Institut Koperasi Malaysia chairman, Datuk Tan Choon Peow who is M&A Equity Holdings managing director and Datuk Abdul Razak Dawood who is Descon Engineering founder; secretary-general Datuk Dr Ahmed Tasir Lope Pihie who is Nusa Global Heritage Network Bhd chairman; assistant secretary-general Datuk Mat Noor Nawi who is MX Global chairman; and treasurer-general

Datuk Ng Seing Liong, a licensed auditor who is senior partner at SL Ng & Associates.

Appointed as executive committee members are Datuk Gnanasambanthan Doraisamy, Datuk Kang Hua Keong, Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun, Datuk Captain Mohd Nawawi Awang, Datuk Kenneth Soh Chee Whye, Datuk Seri Michael Chong Ten Soo, Datuk Mohanadas Nagappan and Datuk Kiat Swee Sung.

Meanwhile, Datuk Cha Hoo Peng, Datuk Mohamad Ashfar Mohamad Ali are the internal auditors.
