Drums thundered and lions pranced as a property developer’s Chinese New Year open house in Penang transformed into a two-day festival, drawing hundreds of visitors.

Held at the Penang International Commercial City (PICC) sales gallery in Bayan Lepas, the event hosted by Hunza Properties Group was a lively celebration of culture, community and prosperity.

The crowd buzzed with excitement as eight colourful lions put up a stunning show and toured the space for symbolic blessing and photo requests.

On stage, local dance group Euphoria Penang put on several modern Chinese dances in between live music sets and lucky draw sessions.

There were also diabolo and Sichuan opera face-changing routines, a Chingay demonstration, jazzy guzheng numbers, magic shows and a fire-eating show.

Families taking in the displays were also able to indulge in local street food, snacks and beverages from a wide array of vendors.

Several games stalls offered visitors chances to win prizes while children’s workshops allowed little ones to get hands-on in creating festive souvenirs.

A God of Prosperity mascot and Peach Fairy also made the rounds to spread festive joy during the open house.

Hosting the event were Hunza Group managing director Datuk Khor Siang Gin and group chief executive officer (sales and marketing) Datuk Lily Tan.

They were joined by local media and corporate partners for a yee sang tossing session.

Khor said the annual affair was an opportunity to celebrate the joys of the festive season together with both their existing and prospective buyers.

This year, it was themed “Peachful Fortunes” in line with the developer’s ongoing homeownership campaign running until the end of March.

Those who purchase units during this period stand a chance to win a share of prizes worth up to RM500,000 overall, as well as receive exclusive, limited-edition gifts (terms and conditions apply).

Many visitors took the opportunity to check out the six recently unveiled show units of Hunza’s Senze@PICC residential development.

“It is Penang’s largest one-stop show gallery and allows interested parties to fully experience the development’s thoughtfully designed layouts and see all the luxurious amenities they will get as part of the fully-furnished packages we offer,” Khor shared.

Senze@PICC is the second phase of the visionary, RM10bil and 17.4ha fully integrated and futuristic PICC township.

The residences were launched in 2024 starting with Tower C.

Towers B and A are slated for launch later this year, with the project on track for completion by 2027.

Senze@PICC’s units range in size from 657sq ft to 1,658sq ft.

Besides the fully-furnished packages, it also boasts over 70 resort-style amenities, flexible layouts with a range from two-bedroom to four-bedroom dual-key options, and exclusive rooftop amenities.

It also enjoys a strategic location adjacent to the upcoming PICC shopping mall and will be within walking distance to a future LRT station on the Mutiara Line.
