GOLF enthusiasts among CIMB Preferred clients can now enjoy a premium golfing experience without worrying about the weather or course availability.

With the launch of “The Golf Lounge for CIMB Preferred”, in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, CIMB Bank Bhd (CIMB) offers its preferred clients a modern arena for indoor golfing and socialising.

Developed in partnership with Wedge Golf, the lounge features two private suites equipped with state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators.

The simulators offer over 50 world-class golf courses and can be used for practice or to have a round with friends.

At the launch, CIMB Group Consumer and Digital Banking chief executive officer Effendy Shahul Hamid said the lounge was part of the bank’s effort to offer a different kind of experience for its clients.

“A lot of people talk about priority banking or preferred banking and about the privileges clients enjoy, but sometimes you’re still confined to specific ‘priority centres’.

“What we realised is that there’s always a different way of delivering value. We wanted to break away from convention to be different, and that’s something our clients seem to appreciate.

“Being successful in banking isn’t just about selling as much as possible; it’s about creating the right level of bonding and engagement,” he added.

Effendy said the lounge was an extension of CIMB’s Preferred Golf Series, offering a more immersive and personalised platform for clients to enjoy the sport.

At the launch, professional golfer and CIMB brand partner Ervin Chang hosted a golf clinic for clients where participants received personalised feedback to refine their game.

Chang also shared practical advice, covering swing techniques and strategies suitable for players of varying skill levels.

CIMB Preferred clients have complimentary access to the lounge for three-hour sessions in private suites daily between 11am and 11pm, with complimentary food and beverages.

The bank’s preferred clients will also receive invitations to private events, offered discounted rates for extended use of the private suites and access to professional golf lessons.
