THE DECISION on whether to elect a new mayor or extend Datuk Seri Kamarulzaman Mat Salleh's (pic) tenure is likely to be made on Tuesday (Aug 13) by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“The decision will be made today,” the Prime Minister's political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin said.
“The decision is at the PM’s discretion, so I have no authority to comment," he said during the launch of Laman Kuching at Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.
Kamarulzaman's term is set to end on Wednesday (Aug 14).
He took up the post on April 17 last year.
