SHAH Alam City Council (MBSA) organised the “Jom Isi Minyak Motosikal Percuma” programme at the PETRONAS petrol station in Section 7 Shah Alam to support the less privileged and the local community.

MBSA corporate and public relations director Mohd Azhar Mohd Sharif said the event was aimed at strengthening community bonds.

It also reaffirmed MBSA’s ongoing commitment to assist the local community within its administrative area, he added.

“A total of 300 motorcycle riders, including target groups such as food delivery riders, civil servants, industrial workers, and students from nearby higher education institutions, received free petrol.

“Each rider received free petrol worth RM10,” he said.

Mohd Azhar added that the programme aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), No Poverty (SDG 1), and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11).

“It also supported MBSA’s commitment to becoming a caring local authority.

“The city council hopes by implementing welfare programmes for the community, it could also increase awareness of social responsibility among Shah Alam residents to come together to help those in need,” he said.

The programme was officiated by Shah Alam mayor Cheremi Tarman.

Also present were acting deputy mayor Madiyan Baweh, council members, business partners, Road Safety and Corporate Unit, Selangor Road Transport Department and MBSA senior management staff.
