THE Selangor International Travel Photography Festival in Petaling Jaya drew some 10,000 visitors.

Organised by Tourism Selangor at Paradigm Mall, the festival featured photography competitions and exhibitions, photography-related discussions and presentations, cultural performances and a children’s colouring activity.

Fifty photographers from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and the United States participated in the photography competition themed “Selangor, My Dream Destination”.

Some 200 photos from the competition were exhibited at the event.

Selangor tourism, environment, green technology and Orang Asli affairs committee chairman Hee Loy Sian said the festival was aimed at promoting the various tourist destinations in the state.

“In 2021, Selangor was able to attract more than 10.2 million domestic tourists, making it the most visited state in Malaysia,” he noted.

He added that Selangor’s tourist destinations provided much potential for photographers and content creators.

Also participating in the festival were Jumpstreet Asia, Selangor Fruit Valley, Eastin Hotel, Chocolate Museum, Jungle School Gombak and Gamuda Land. — By AMIRAH CHE RAMLAN
