Campaign to raise funds for Pudu school

A SECONDARY school in Kuala Lumpur is launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for a new building.

SMK (P) Pudu is currently facing a shortfall of RM2mil due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Board of Governors has come up with a crowdfunding platform (https://pessbuildingfund.com) as the current movement control order made it difficult to organise fundraising dinners or concerts.

Located at Jalan Foss, the school serves girls from one of the most deprived areas in the capital city.

Over the past year, the board and Parent-Teacher Association have been donating food parcels to some of the most needy families there.

However, this new building aims to permanently address the needs of B40 families, particularly girls, by giving them access to facilities that their families cannot provide.

For details, contact board chairman Janet Kandilis at 016-391 8424.
