JOHOR BARU: The state has 18 variations of the traditional Zapin dance and the government is trying to get it recognised as a world heritage product for Johor by the United Nations.

State health, culture and heritage committee chairman Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar said the Johor Heritage Foundation (YWJ) would be submitting a letter of intention to the National Heritage Department (JWN).“The letter of intention will be regarding our interest in the traditional dance being recognised by Unesco.
