Beauty pageant contestants boost cancer awareness

THERE were stares all around as five foreign ladies gave out umbrellas and bookmarks to promote awareness of cervical cancer to the public near the Bercham and Buntong wet markets.

The event, which featured five Miss International 2016 participants, was part of the cervical cancer awareness event organised by Fatimah Hospital earlier this month. Miss New Zealand Jessica Tyson, Miss Hawaii Guinevere Davenport, Miss Ireland Katherine Gannon, Miss India Rewati Chetri and Miss Mauritus Shavina Hulkua. also distributed 94 coupons for free pap smear tests during the event.
