City folk who want to savour the coffee and toast bread known to Kluang Rail Coffee in Johor can visit this place. Its menu carries both Malaysian favourites and new fusion dishes, such as nasi lemak, mee siam, mee goreng, Hainanese chicken chop, sambal bun and Spaghetti Rendang Kambing.

Brain-freeze challenge

Gastro Sentral at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur is presenting the ‘brain freeze’ food challenge until June 30. It features the Malaysian dessert known as ABC (air batu campur or ais kacang). The eatery’s version of the perennial favourite consists of ice shavings topped with ice cream, doused with evaporated milk, syrup and ice cream, and packed with treats such as sweetened red beans, grass jelly, agar-agar and sweetened corn.
