Gong Xi Fa Cai buffets full of goodness

EASTERN and Oriental (E&O) Hotel in Penang is lining up Chinese New Year buffets to ensure that reunions with your loved ones will be auspicious.

Chefs at its Sarkies restaurant have lined up lavish spreads featuring heartwarming Oriental flavours alongside international delights.

Save yourself the hassle of cooking and gather for the Gong Xi Fa Cai Reunion Buffet Dinner on the eve of Lunar New Year.

The eatery located in the Victory Annexe will also lay out Gong Xi Fa Cai Buffet Dinners from the first to the third day of the celebration.

Menus vary from day to day, but include action stations where one can have meats and seafood such as the signature E&O Roasted Duck carved up to order.

Diners will also surely be delighted with the Lou Shui Chicken, Pepper Coated Australian Sirloin, Roasted Lamb Leg with Garlic Rosemary, Baked Oysters and Salmon Panggang.

Other highlights are the Prosperity Yee Sang, Steamed Fish in King Soya Sauce, Mah Hiang Prawns, Braised Sea Cucumber with Fish Maw, Kim Chee Fried Rice, Lamb Stew, Chilli Crabs and Deep Fried Inchi Chicken.

Asian action stations offer soup and noodle dishes.

All dinner buffets are served from 7pm to 10.30pm, priced at RM188 for adults and RM94 for kids.

There are also Prosperity Buffet Lunches on the first to the third day of the Chinese New Year, tagged at RM139.90 for adults and RM69.95 for kids.

The Chinese New Year crowd can also sample the special Yee Sang Buffet Lunch on the fourth day that goes at RM108 for adults and RM54 for kids.

All lunches are served from noon to 2.30pm.

Diners can enjoy free flow of wines and beers during the buffets by topping up an extra RM100 per person.

Alternatively, enjoy the Steamboat Buffet Dinner at Sarkies Corner in the hotel’s Heritage Wing which is available every evening from the eve to the second day of Chinese New Year.

Served from 7pm to 10.30pm, the eat-all-you-can feast offers an abundant selection of meats, seafood and vegetables.

It is priced at RM129.60 for adults and RM64.80 for kids.
