Sarawak copper thieves becoming more daring

KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) has expressed concern over rampant incidents of copper theft targeting its facilities in the northern region, causing supply interruptions to customers as well as affecting street lights and telecommunication services.

SEB distribution vice-president Siti Aisah Adenan said thieves were becoming more daring and vandalising electrical equipment in broad daylight, especially in secluded areas.
