Malaysia Coffee Fest debuts to entice coffee enthusiasts this weekend.
Bringing together music, tasty bites and the morning pick-me-up juice, the festival boasts a DOREMi Music Cafe with a line-up of aspiring local artistes, food trucks and several local and international coffee exhibitors.
Conference and Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd (CEMS) general manager Steven Tan said the overall purpose of the festival is to grow the coffee drinking community.
“There are so many different types of coffee and everyone has their own preference on the profile of the coffee but seldom take notice of them.
“The number of cafés sprouting around Kuala Lumpur was an encouragement, substantiating our reasons for creating the event,” he said on gathering 68 exhibitors with hopes to attract 20,000 to 30,000 visitors.
In addition to tasting different cups of Joe, there are also educational segments with a Coffee Clinic teaching the public how to tell different types of coffee apart.
There will also be a Malaysia Open Barista and Latte Art Championship where visitors can watch top baristas compete and share their coffee stories.
The festival is held in Hall 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 11am to 8pm tomorrow and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
