JOHOR BARU: A trio of friends started a mobile car wash business here more than two months ago to offer on-site services.
Redha Legendary Enterprise (RLE) managing director Muhammad Nur Redha Same’un, 22, said the idea was hatched after market research proved that demand for such service was higher than a car wash at an actual premises.
“I have been selling car detailing products online for the past two years.
“The knowledge and skills I acquired during the time gave me confidence to team up with two of my best friends to make RLE mobile car wash a reality,” he said when met at Bandar Baru Uda here.
His two partners are Ibrahim Sultan Polytechnic graduate Mohamad Nornazmi Zaaba, 22, who has a diploma in industrial and design, and Nursyahira Mustapha, 23, a social work undergraduate from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Muhammad Nur Redha, who graduated from USM with a degree in housing, building and planning (quantity surveying), said RLE has a commission-based salary scheme that offered between 15% and 20% of commission to attract youths to join their team.
RLE currently has about 10 part-timers.
Nornazmi, who is in charge of marketing strategies, said each car wash was priced between RM9 and RM15, while other cleaning services, including polishing, waxing, cushion and carpet cleaning, scratch mark removal and others were between RM10 and RM220.
He added that their long-term plan included opening a shop and an academy for those interested to join RLE or become its franchisees, while maintaining the mobile car wash service.
RLE mobile car wash was established in collaboration with Duta Jauhar – a state government programme to encourage involvement of undergraduates in state initiatives to help boost the local socio-economy.
