THE nationwide Economic Census 2016 (BE2016) this year will involve about 700,000 organisations from 940 industries, says Penang Department of Statistics Malaysia director Norfariza Hanim Kasim.
Norfariza said for Penang, thecensus would cover 48,906 organisations where 74.3% (36,000 organisations) is in the service sector, 13.4% (6,000 organisations) in the manufacturing sector, followed by 9.7% (4,000 organisations) from the construction sector, while the remaining 2.6% or 1,200 organisations is from othersectors.
